TOTAL delivers its first carbon neutral LNG cargo

CNOOC confirms that it will not pre-empt the sale of Tullow’s assets in Uganda to Total

On 23 April 2020, Tullow announced that it had agreed the sale of its assets in Uganda to Total and that CNOOC had rights of pre-emption to acquire 50% of these assets on the same terms and conditions as Total. CNOOC has now informed Tullow and Total that it has elected not to exercise its pre-emption rights. CNOOC to drill in the West of Shetlands

Anadarko signs SPAs for Mozambique LNG

Anadarko has signed three gas Sale and Purchase Agreements (“SPAs”) with Tokyo Gas/Centrica (2.6mtpa), Shell (2mtpa) and CNOOC (1.5mtpa) for its Mozambique LNG Area 1 development. UK North Sea gets shot in the arm with Glengorm

CNOOC, Total and Edison have made one of the biggest finds in the UK North Sea in recent years. The Glengorm discovery is estimated to contain recoverable resources of 250mmboe which is even bigger than Total’s recent success in the West of Shetlands at Glendronach which had 1tcf of gas (c.160mmboe). FAR goes further with another industry partner

On 26th February, FAR announced that it had agreed to farm-out a 40% interest in Blocks A2 and A5 in The Gambia to Petronas. FAR will retain 40% and operatorship; the remaining 20% is held by Erin Energy – FAR farmed in to the blocks in March 2017 in return for upfront payment of USD5.2 million and FAR funding an exploration well (to be drilled in 2018) up to USD8 million. FAR AMI with CNOOC in Senegal and The Gambia

On 31st March, FAR announced that it had entered into an Area of Mutual Interest Agreement with Chinese state giant CNOOC for the joint co-operation on the evaluation of and entry into new opportunities across Senegal and The Gambia.
