Tullow: Dry well offshore Suriname

 Tullow had announced that the Goliathberg-Voltzberg North exploration well, on Block 47 (TLW 50%), offshore Suriname was drilled to a ~5,000m TD and encountered good quality reservoir but only minor oil shows.The well will now be plugged and abandoned. Tullow operated the well and was partnered with Petroandina Resources and Ratio Suriname Limited.This does not have a direct read across to Tullow's Guyana acreage but is clearly not helpful...

Guyana's upcoming drilling

Tullow and its partners have upcoming drilling in Guyana over the summer over two blocks. The blocks are: Orinduik: Tullow (60% operator), Total (25%), Eco Atlantic (15%) Kanuku: Repsol (37.5% operator), Tullow (37.5%), Total (25%) In August, the Stena Forth drill ship will arrive on Orinduik for a two well campaign to drill the Jethro and Joe prospects. ExxonMobil scores big this week

ExxonMobil has made two significant announcements this week: the sanction of the USD10+ billion Golden Pass LNG project and further exploration success in Guyana. Golden Pass LNG On Tuesday, ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum sanctioned the Golden Pass LNG project in Texas. It will have a cost of USD10+ billion and deliver capacity of 16mtpa from 2024. ExxonMobil makes 10th oil discovery offshore Guyana; resource increased to 5+ bnboe

ExxonMobil announced its tenth discovery offshore Guyana and its sixth discovery on the Stabroek Block in the past year. The Pluma-1 well encountered c.121 feet of high-quality, oil-bearing sandstone reservoir and is located c.17 miles southwest of the Turbot-1 well and follows previous discoveries on the Stabroek Block at Liza, Liza Deep, Payara, Snoek, Turbot, Ranger, Pacora, Longtail and Hammerhead.
